Mr & Mrs Winters

Project Introduction
Mr & Mrs Winters came to us in May with a requirement to remove their old conservatory and to create more space for us to install a new, larger conservatory. As an additional requirement, they also desired a concrete path to run from the front of the property through to the garden shed to allow Mr Winters to ride his motorbike to the shed without riding on lawn.
Design & Planning
Again we consulted closely with the client and chose a conservatory which was going to suit their needs, and the property itself. Mr & Mrs Winters wanted to go with the most cost effective way of gaining the most living space and obtaining a room they could use all year round, so rather than building the traditional dwarf walls around the base of the structure, we used a series of flat panels which would take the frames or the conservatory to ground level. A tinted glass roof was used because of the south facing aspect of the property, and a high insulating glass was also used to reduce heat loss during the cold months.
The Build
As there was no requirement for a dwarf wall as part of this structure, building work was kept to a minimum and this allowed us to install the conservatory very quickly with the minimum of disruption to the customer. The finishing included a beautiful tiled floor, laid by our experienced tiler John Fleming.
Completion & Follow-Up
The end result for the Mr & Mrs Winters is a considerable amount of extra living space which can be used all year round. Comfortable and practical space at an affordable price, providing everything that the client needed within a limited budget.
